Success is subjective

Daily writing prompt
When you think of the word “successful,” who’s the first person that comes to mind and why?

Success is relative, and its definition could vary from person to person. For some, success is wealth, for some it is fame, educational qualifications, family, etc. Are they all success measurements? Certainly. But there is one thing that gets often overlooked when we perceive someone as successful. A peaceful sleep at night.

Any person who can sleep peacefully without taking the stress, worries and anxiety of this perceived success to bed, is successful. I know that this is far, far more broader than the “first person that comes to mind” variety, but that is a fact. We have seen several successful people succumbing to substance abuse, alchohol, or even their lives. Because while we see them as successful, living colourful lives, the reality is very different. Hence, instead of focusing on a handful as such people as successful, consider all those who sleep peacefully, and wake up for the next day’s challenges with a new rigour as successful.
